DB Capital Partners, the private equity arm of Deutsche Bank, has hired William Burgess as managing director of DB Capital Venture Partners, the firm's early stage venture unit.

Burgess will manage a variety of the firm's existing investments, as well as looking at new opportunities in the technology sector. He will be responsible for investments in software, infrastructure and communications technology companies.
