Deutsche Asset Management has appointed James de Sausmarez as a managing director for its investment trust division.

Sausmarez has recently been working as an independent consultant. He previously worked for Govett Investments and Henderson Investors. In the 1980s, he worked at Touche Remnant when its investment business was led by Paul Manduca, now European chief executive at Deutsche Asset Management.
