Investors are willing to consider new types of ABS

The European securitisation market has gained breadth and depth in 2001 almost as fast as other markets, notably equity linked, and mergers and acquisitions have become skinny shadows of their former selves.

Bankers say that investors are increasingly prepared to consider new types of asset-backed securities (ABS) and, equally importantly, that potential issuers are beginning to discover the benefits of securitisation.
