Deloitte fined £500,000 and mystery partner reprimanded for pension audit failings

Deloitte and its former audit partner failed to obtain appropriate audit evidence to substantiate the cash holding of the pension scheme

The UK's audit watchdog has fined Big Four firm Deloitte £500,000 for failings in the audit of a pension scheme.

The Financial Reporting Council said in a 6 November notice that an unnamed former Deloitte audit partner has also been reprimanded for failings the audit of the unnamed company’s defined benefit pension scheme and the carrying value of its intangible assets.
