The investment manager responsible for the £20m (€30m) Gartmore High Income Investment Trust is leaving Gartmore to join UBS Asset Management, putting the future of the trust in doubt.

Brian Gallagher, who also runs the £308m UK Equity Income Fund with fund manager Chris Burvill, will move to UBS Asset Management's UK equity income team after a notice period of six months.
