Threadneedle Associates, the City of London-headquartered search firm, has appointed Dr Michael Selby as the non-executive chairman of the firm.

Selby, a former director of studies in economics at Cauis and Gonville colleges in Cambridge, and a reader at the London School of Economics, is an authority on derivatives, having co-authored 'Mathematical Finance: Pricing by Arbitrary Information', with Simon Babbs in 1998.
