Deutsche AM regroups after talent drain

Performance is improving after spate of senior departures

Paul Berriman, chief executive of Deutsche Asset Management in the UK, believes the flurry of exits from its London office is over. Clients who have seen Deutsche lose five senior department heads, including chief investment officer Karl Sternberg and UK equities head John Wood, will be pleased to hear it.

Last week, Financial News revealed the firm had parted company with Sandy Black, its London-based co-head of European equities. On the way in is Mark Connolly, former managing director and European head of distribution at Insight, who takes up a new role as European head of institutional distribution. His arrival follows Sternberg's replacement by Peter Harrison, former global equity investment chief at JP Morgan Fleming.
