The German lender has made a series of senior hires for its financial institutions group this year

Deutsche Bank has hired a senior dealmaker to focus on financial institutions as it continues to build out the unit as part of a broader expansion of its investment bank.

Ian Wesson has joined the German lender as a managing director within its financial institutions group M&A team, according to a memo seen by Financial News. He is a 20-year veteran of Citigroup, where he also worked within its FIG team.
