Deutsche Börse plans new code for Neuer Markt IPOs

Deutsche Börse is bringing in a mandatory code of best practice by the middle of 2002 for initial public offerings on the Neuer Markt, in a further move to improve the reputation of Frankfurt's high growth market.

The exchange is drawing up a capital market code of best practice that will apply to both companies and lead managers. Points under discussion include making the listing prospectus the sole basis of information for investors, improving the quality of prospectuses and ensuring the language is easier to read and understand.
