Deutsche offloads IT unit to India’s Tata Consultancy in €120m hit

Postbank’s operations will remain in Germany, helping to further the Indian firm’s growth in the region and in financial services

Deutsche Bank has agreed to sell its IT services unit Postbank Systems to India’s Tata Consultancy Services, as part of its sweeping 2019 plan to bring down costs at the bank.

The sale, set for completion by the end of the year, will cost approximately €120m, the bank said. The hit has been factored into its cost-reduction strategy, which centres around cutting 18,000 jobs.
