Deutsche Post calls in Morgan Stanley for Exel bid

Deutsche Post the German post office, has called in Morgan Stanley to advise it on takeover talks with Exel, the UK logistics company which is valued at £3.5bn (€5.1bn). Its usual adviser is Deutsche Bank.

Deutsche Bank has advised Deutsche Post on all four of its biggest deals, according to Thomson Financial, the investment data provider. The mandate is Morgan Stanley's first as a mergers and acquisitions adviser to the German post group.
