Dewey Ballantine, the US law firm, has expanded its European mergers and acquisitions department with the appointment of five associates to its London office.

Douglas Getter, head of European M&A at Dewey Ballantine, said that it took about eight months to find the right staff. He has been with the firm for 16 years, although he only joined the London office in February.
