Dexia Asset Management today announced the appointment of Ric van Weelden as manager of the client relations & solutions department, responsible for commercial activities across all markets and geographies. He will also manage the unit focused on tailoring client specific solutions and join the executive committee.

He has over 25 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Dexia AM, van Weelden was CEO of Janus Capital International Ltd and managing director at Janus Capital Group with responsibility for its European and Middle East business. Prior to that, he was a partner at Watson Wyatt -- now Towers Watson -- where he spent nine years in a variety of roles in consulting, account management and business development. He joined from Commerzbank, where he ran the New York operation of the bank's asset management business.
