European venture investor DFJ Esprit has promoted one of Financial News’ Rising Stars to the position of partner, according to a statement, making him one of the youngest partners in the European private equity industry.

Scott Sage, who focuses on early-stage deals in the Nordic region and the UK, joined London-based DFJ Esprit as an associate in 2010. He has led a number of deals for the firm including its investment in Finnish android testing platform Bitbar. DFJ Esprit was one of a handful of investors that provided Bitbar with $3m of funding in April.
