The president of the European Council has launched a stinging attack on the architects of Brexit, just a day before UK Prime Minister Theresa May arrives in Brussels for last-ditch talks aimed at avoiding a no-deal split with Europe.

In a tweet sent on February 6, Donald Tusk wrote: “I’ve been wondering what that special place in hell looks like, for those who promoted #Brexit, without even a sketch of a plan how to carry it out safely.”
