US health chief Dr Anthony Fauci has backtracked on criticism of UK health regulators for the speed at which they approved the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

Fauci said that the UK’s quick review risked public confidence and said the US’s slower approach was more thorough.
