Duncan Duckett, the investment trust specialist with a reputation for shaking up the sector, is hoping to launch a multi-million pound Value Realisation fund to cash in on institutional disillusionment with smaller companies.

In the first quarter of this year alone, 10 small cap companies went private because of illiquidity and high volatility, according to the new Reuters survey of the sector.
