Duke Street Capital has become the latest private equity firm to make a decisive commitment to Germany, hiring Ervin Schellenberg to shake up Europe's most promising but most frustrating market.

Duke Street, an independent UK company, follows recent moves by UK-listed company Candover and France-based Axa Private Equity. Candover opened an office in Düsseldorf while Axa established itself in Frankfurt.
