Dutch regulator to launch US-style fund probe

Autoriteit Finanicele Markten (AFM), the Dutch financial markets regulator, is to begin a review of the Dutch investment fund market similar to the US investigation into trading and market irregularities among mutual and hedge funds.

A spokeswoman at AFM said it will be a broad review of the whole industry, rather than of specific firms or funds. "This was not prompted by any specific events or [because] we suspect irregularities," she said.
