Greg Dyke, the former director general of the BBC, has joined private equity firm Apax Partners as an adviser to its media board.

Dyke resigned from the BBC in the wake of the Hutton report, which criticised the BBC heavily for its role in the death of Dr David Kelly, the Iraq weapons expert.
