FIG banker exits Greenhill

One of the founding members of the US investment bank’s London office – who previously led the financial services practice in Europe – has left the firm

One of the founding members of Greenhill’s London office, who led the firm's financial services practice in Europe and advised on Virgin Money's long-gestated acquisition of Northern Rock, has stepped down from his role.

Edward Wakefield, 40, joined Greenhill when the US investment bank opened a London office in 1998. He was listed as inactive on the UK's Financial Services Register earlier this week and is no longer a director at Greenhill & Co International LLP.
