John Koonmen, manager of the failed hedge fund Eifuku, has raised concerns with investors that the collapse was caused by someone deliberately trading heavily against its biggest positions on four consecutive days.

In a letter to investors, Koonmen said: "The concerning issue was that much of the adverse activity in our positions took place in the last trading hour of each day."
