General election focuses attention on public sector pensions

Controversy over the relative generosity – and widespread availability – of public sector pension pots is mounting ahead of next month’s UK general election.

One area of particular scrutiny is the future of the £120bn (€138bn) Local Government Pension Scheme movement. It is the only one of the UK's large public schemes to be funded by contributions from members and sponsors, with funds requiring asset managers to service them.
