Electronic trader XTX prepares to compete in equities

XTX Markets, an electronic trading firm that has grabbed business from the world's major currency dealing banks, has taken an important step in its bid to do the same in Europe's equities markets.

XTX said in a statement that it plans to become a systematic internaliser, a firm that is required to put its own capital at risk to trade directly with fund managers and other buyers and sellers of shares.
