Emerging markets equity portfolio manager leaves HSBC GAM

Nicholas Timberlake, the former head of emerging markets equity at HSBC Global Asset Management, left the firm in August 2020, the $517.1bn asset manager confirmed. He had worked for the asset manager since 2005.

Prior to his time at HSBC GAM, Timberlake worked at F&C Asset Management as a small-cap analyst in 1991 and later moved to their emerging markets team in 1997, according to a Standard & Poor’s note published in July 2009 on the emerging markets equity fund that Timberlake managed.
