English ‘Brexit towns’ to lose out from a bad EU deal, warns City body

The City of London Corporation argues that a proper EU-UK financial services agreement will benefit English regions too

The UK’s smaller regional financial centres — including several that voted for Brexit — have as much to lose from leaving the EU’s single market as the capital does, according to research from the City of London Corporation.

The Corporation, which represents London’s financial centre, wants the UK and EU to do a deal on financial services that allows UK firms as much access as possible to EU markets.
