Enterprise Inns, the UK pub group, is to take full control of The Unique Pub Company, for £609m (€883m). The purchase will add around 4,000 pubs to Enterprise's existing portfolio of over 5,000.

Enterprise intends to exercise an option over the 83.2% of the Unique Pub Company, currently held by a consortium of private equity firms led by Cinven, the European buy-out firm.
