Europe’s top securities watchdog has called for common EU regulation on crowdfunding, as the alternative source of finance gains steam.

The European Securities and Markets Authorities on Thursday published two reports in an attempt to clarify which EU rules should be applied to crowdfunding by national regulators and which areas need better investor protection from EU institutions.
