Esma repeats call for funding shake-up

EU super-regulator reiterates demands to be fully-funded by the European Commission as its workload continues to grow

Europe's top securities regulator has repeated calls to be fully-funded by the European Commission, as the agency faces growing pressure over its ability to meet key deadlines on post-crisis rules.

The European Securities and Markets Authority is responsible for drafting new regulation in the wake of the financial crisis. It has also taken on the oversight of credit rating agencies.
