Investors in exchange traded funds — some of the most easily-sold securities — dumped US and European holdings and headed east as markets tumbled on October 10 and 11, according to first-take flows data.

Investors have pulled a net $437m from US ETFs in the past 24 hours, and $461m from Europe and Eurozone-focused ETFs, according to figures from consultancy ETFGI and Bloomberg.
