ETF providers face triple pressure

The industry has to address three complaints before it can continue its global growth

Three strikes and you’re out. The phrase, born from baseball, is in common usage around the world – but exchange-traded fund providers are hoping retail investors don’t apply it to their industry. Retail investors have found three issues to complain about in relation to exchange-traded funds in recent months, each stemming from confusion over what returns the products provide.

The complaints have led to pressure on providers to rethink how they distribute their more complicated funds.
