A merger between Euronext, the European exchange, and German rival, Deutsche Börse, may still be on the cards after a source close to the exchanges hinted today that merger talks could resume.
A source close to Euronext told Financial News: "We asked what Deutsche had in mind, and they came back with something that was not attractive.
