Euronext launches market segment for tracker funds

Euronext, the pan-European exchange created by the merger of the Amsterdan, Brussels and Paris exchanges, has launched a new market segment for exchange traded funds (ETFs), called NextTrack.

ETFs, or Trackers, are index funds that can be traded on the market in the same way as shares and are designed to replicate the performance of an index or basket of stocks. Investors buy a single security to benefit from the results of a whole business sector, national economy or region.
