Eurozone bank stocks surged in trading at the European open on Thursday, leading a broad rally in European equity markets.

The Euro Stoxx Banks index climbed 3.4% as of 10:45 am. in London. Shares in Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse were each up more than 7%.
