The European Commission has cleared the creation of an electronic trading platform, called Centradia, set up by four European banks to offer foreign exchange and a limited range of money market products to their corporate customers.

The approval comes at a time when other bank-owned foreign exchange portals are under investigation by antitrust authorities for stifling competition in the electronic foreign exchange markets.
