European hedge funds have more than $71.5bn (€ 77bn) available, dispelling a popular myth that capacity constraints are an issue in the nascent European industry.
To determine this figure EuroHedge, the trade publication for the European hedge fund industry, contacted every existing European hedge fund. The results show that the $64bn European hedge fund industry could more than double in assets under management before it needs to add a new manager. The industry has been growing rapidly, with 149 hedge funds launched in Europe last year alone.
