European Securities Forum appoints Frey as chief executive

The European Securities Forum, a committee of banks which campaigns for consolidation in Europe's fragmented clearing and settlement infrastructure, has appointed Werner Frey as chief executive.

Frey, who is Swiss, has been a consultant to the clearing and settlement industry since 1997. Prior to that he was a member of the executive board of Bank Leu, which since 1990 has been part of the Credit Suisse Group.
