Independent US advisory firm Evercore has hired a former Goldman Sachs partner to provide advice to some of its largest corporate clients.

The hire of Paul Aaron as a senior managing director in Evercore's advisory practice follows a strong period for the firm, which reported record revenues of $406.6m in the three months to September 30. Advisory fees were up 8% year-on-year
