The UK arm of boutique Evercore increased employee numbers by 11% last year, despite a steep drop in dealmaking fees, as larger rivals cut back.

Evercore finished 2023 with 349 employees in the UK, according to newly-released accounts, up from 315 a year earlier as the boutique embarked on a global hiring spree in the face of an M&A slump.
