Patrick Evershed, a star fund manager who left New Star Asset Management late last year after several years of underperformance, has joined stockbroker and funds house Hargreave Hale.

Evershed will be managing funds for private clients at the company. Hargreave Hale, along with its chief executive Giles Hargreave, specialises in small-cap investments, along with tax-efficient investments for wealthier investors.
