Evolution Securities has appointed a new head of distribution in its sales and trading division, weeks after Financial News revealed the UK investment bank's decision to slash its equities team had sparked a number of senior departures.

Patric Johnson, former chief operating officer at Icap Equities for Europe and Asia, has been appointed head of distribution responsible for both research and sales at Evolution, the company announced today.
