Russell Barlow, the former global head of alternative and multi-asset investments at Abrdn, has been named chief executive of Switzerland-headquartered crypto ETP provider 21Shares.

Barlow, who left Abrdn last month after 26 years with the Edinburgh-headquartered asset manager, will join 21Shares in January with two former colleagues — Duncan Moir and Edel Bashir.
