Philippe Moryoussef, a former Barclays trader charged with rigging a key financial benchmark, has failed to appear at the start of his UK trial because of concerns he will not get a fair hearing.

Moryoussef is one of 11 former Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Societe Generale traders charged by the UK's Serious Fraud Office with manipulating the euro interbank offered rate, or Euribor, between 2005 and 2009.
