The banker who oversaw BNP Paribas' financial institutions coverage in central and eastern Europe is leaving to move into consultancy work eyeing opportunities left by large investment banks streamlining their client books.

Lucas Gnehm resigned from BNP Paribas in November and is on gardening leave until February. He plans to join a German-Austrian consultancy focused on corporate clients and help it to build a banking practice.
