Bill Browder, the former fund manager turned outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been released from a Spanish police station after being arrested under an Interpol warrant.

In two tweets at 8.31am and 8.36am BST, Browder's account tweeted: "Urgent: just was arrested by Spanish police in Madrid on a Russian Interpol arrest warrant" and "In the back fo the Spanish police car going to the station... they won't tell me which station".
