Peter Thompson, the former chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds, has joined BESTrustees, which provides UK pension schemes with professional trustees.

Thompson, an actuary with nearly 30 years' experience in pensions, had previously worked for Mercer Human Resource Consulting, in London, Leeds and Manchester, in both the actuarial and investment consulting practices.
