Christopher Metcalfe, formerly head of prime equities at Schroder Investment Management, has joined Newton Investment Management as a senior equity portfolio manager running institutional money.

He will join later this month and report to Jeff Munroe, chief investment officer. He was at Schroders for over a decade, and Henderson for 10 years before that, latterly as head of UK equities.
