Exane hires Citi's utilities research head

Appointment plugs a gap in the French broker's equity research team that has been vacant since June

Exane BNP Paribas has hired a new head of utilities research from Citigroup, filling a gap left after the French broker's previous head left to join the buyside.

Sofia Savvantidou, who joined Citi from JP Morgan in 2008, left the bank last month, according to the Financial Services Register. She will join Exane BNP Paribas in October, according to people familiar with the matter.
