The chief executive of the London Derivatives Exchange, who was knocked off his treasured Ducati motorbike a fortnight ago and was at risk of losing a leg, is on the path to a full recovery.

Vijay Angelo said he had suffered compound fractures to his shin bone and calf bone in an accident on May 24, and praised "community-minded" Londoners and hospital workers for saving his leg.
