Seniority has been the key to fund managers' performance in the equity income markets in the twelve months to October, according to the latest report by Standard & Poors' Fund Research.

Over the year, the UK growth portfolio crashed by 23%, but some of the most experienced UK equity income managers did manage to outperform, S&P said.
